Vincent Walsh
Vincent Walsh of Laburnum Drive, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully at his home in the arms of his beloved wife Sylvia, whilst surrounded by his loving family on Monday 19th October 2015, aged 77 years.
Vinny was a shoe maker at Newman’s Footwear in Blackburn for many years and was a supervisor for the last 15 years. He served his 2 years of National Service in the RAF. In 1967, Vinny along with his wife Sylvia went to live in Australia, where they were known as £10.00 PONS. During that time he worked for Footrest and Clark’s Shoes in Melbourne. They later returned back to England due to family illness.
Vinny was a member of the Bambi Club. He enjoyed traveling and going away in their motorhome, their little Bambi campervan, doing rallies and also sightseeing.
He also enjoyed all types of sports, including football, he also played darts all over Blackburn, Church and Accrington winning numerous trophies along the way, he especially enjoyed playing a round of golf or two with his son Andrew.
Vinny leaves behind his beloved wife Sylvia, his precious and much loved son Andrew, his devoted and treasured grandson Conor, his dear sisters Rose & Kath, his many nieces, nephews and sister in laws, also a great friend to many.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday 27th October, at 11.30am, at Pleasington Crematorium.
