Paul Barton

I have worked in the funeral industry for the past 20 years.  Before setting up on my own in 2011 I worked for the Alty Funeral Service in Blackburn for many years.

In 2003  I became a Councillor for the Barnfield Ward in Hyndburn.  In 2009 I was given the opportunity to represent the people of Hyndburn by becoming their next Mayor.

What an honour!!  During my term of office I attended  many engagements both large and small and also spent my spare time fundraising for local Hyndburn charities.    It was during this time that I decided to take the plunge and fulfil my life time ambition of owning and running my own local, independent, family run funeral home, which I now feel is amongst or if not one of the best funeral services in Hyndburn.

In May 2016, I was extremely proud to be made an Honorary Alderman of the Borough Of Hyndburn. It was awarded for exemplary service and commitment to the community.
I wear the badge on Civic occasions with pride on behalf of the people I’ve helped over the years.

I have worked in an office and customer service environment since leaving school. In 2000 I gave this up to spend more time bringing up our first son Matthew. In 2005 we had our second son Oliver. When the children were young I decided to take my Teaching Assistant qualifications. Between 2006 until 2014, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at St Andrew’s Primary School, Oswaldtwistle and more recently for at St Anne’s & St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Accrington.

I am now at Paul’s side full time in the funeral home managing the office. We have worked hard as a husband and wife team to establish our company and I feel our reputation now speaks for itself. I am pleased that we have become a well known, highly reputable and professional service. We pride ourselves on going the extra mile and are no doubt one of the leading funeral services in Hyndburn, always bringing new ideas to the forefront of the industry. My main hobby outside work is being a Brownie Leader for 10th Accrington URC Brownies.

I am also currently the Chair of Oswaldtwistle in Bloom, where I help to make Oswaldtwistle a much brighter place, to live, work and visit, I am the current Treasurer for our local branch of the Royal British Legion (Church & Oswaldtwistle) and am also a trustee for the Accrington & District Blind Society. Me and Paul are quite active fundraisers and always try to help charities and at local events as and when we can.

Paul & Sarah and our extremely dedicated team will be there to help you every step of the way, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
