Valerie (Val) Callis

Val Callis of Ward Avenue, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully on Thursday 27^th February 2025, aged 83 years.

During her life Val worked as a senior nurse, working in a variety of contexts including in specialist Epilepsy units and within Midwifery.

She was a strong committed Christian and was a key member of The Church of the Resurrection at Upton Priory before moving to Oswaldtwistle.  She was also a great supporter of many charities but her main interest was the well being of her daughter’s Clare, Kate and Gill, and her granddaughters Amy, Marcia, Charlie and Eva.

In her spare time and during her retirement Val enjoyed playing the piano, watching quizzes on TV, doing her words searches and watching the birds in her beloved garden.

She is now reunited with the love of her life Stephen, from whom she was parted 6 years ago.

Val will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.

Her funeral service will be held at 1.45pm, on Thursday 13^th March 2025, at St Paul’s Church, Oswaldtwistle, prior to committal at Accrington Crematorium.
