Trudy Barker

Trudy Barker of Plantation Street, Accrington passed away peacefully on Sunday 26th November 2023, aged 85 years.

During her working life Trudy worked for Emerson & Renwick and also Brook Bond OXO, Slingers and RM Williams as a secretary and also in accounts.

Over the years Trudy has competed for DASH (Disabled Association for Sports in Hyndburn) at the Paralympics, obtaining medals for Archery, Shooting and many more sports, as well as taking part in many wheelchair dance championships.

Trudy was also a very keen crafter and gardener.

A much loved mother of Ann, John, Ian and David, a treasured grandma of Joanna, Sarah, Lynn, Katherine, Jamie, Mary, Jack, Caleb and Isobel, a cherished great grandma of Callium, Lewis and Oliver and also a dearly loved sister of Theresa, Joan, Tony, Charley, Margaret and the late Marie.

Trudy will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 12.30pm on Tuesday 12^th December 2023, at St Joseph’s RC Church, Accrington.
