Suzzan Gilbert

Suzzan Gilbert of Aspen Lane, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully with her loving family beside her on Saturday 28^th May 2022, aged 58 years.

During her life Suzzan was always on the go.  She was a hard worker and had a variety of jobs over the years, these included starting off as a kennel maid, before working at Newby Bridge Hotel in Cumbria.  She also worked for TML, Rist Wires and Karrimor amongst other places.  She is probably best known though for starting up her own business Pampered Pets, based on Union Road in Ossy, where she was a brilliant dog groomer, making many pooches look their absolute best, this continued for over 17 years due to its great success.

In her spare time she greatly enjoyed going for weekends away in her campervan, along with her husband Jim and her beloved dog George.  She also has been on many holidays abroad too, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and also her friends at many events and parties.  She was also one of Rod Stewarts biggest fans, having seen him over 50 times and also a Liverpool FC fan.

She was also a dedicated member of the Accrington Lions and held the position of treasurer and also had the honour of being a past president.  She was also involved in many charity dog walks too.

Suzzan sadly leaves behind her much loved husband Jim, her dearly loved daughter Alana, son Christopher and step son Iain.

She will be sadly missed by all her loving family, friends and fellow Lions.  She was a hugely popular lady with the biggest heart.

Her funeral service will take place at 1.45pm, on Wednesday 8^th June 2022, at Holy Trinity Church, New Lane, Oswaldtwistle, prior to committal at Accrington Crematorium.  The family have requested for people to wear colourful clothes on the day in celebration of her life.
