Sheila Dudley
Sheila Dudley of White Ash Estate, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday 6th June, 2016, aged 77 years.
Sheila was probably best known as a familiar face in Riley’s General Store on Union Road, where she worked for many years, she later left to look after her grandchildren for a few years. She then went to work at ASDA on the checkouts up until she retired. Afterwards she filled her time with a part time job in a café at Oswaldtwistle Mills.
In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and crosswords puzzles. She took also took pleasure in holidays abroad especially to Malta, Majorca and Cyprus. She loved watching the soaps on the telly. Every now and then Sheila took delight in giving her home a make-over and she loved updating the décor and furnishings.
Later in life she became a committee member of the White Ash Social Centre, where she helped organise and fund trips and events.
Sheila was a dearly loved wife of Pete, a loving sister of Linda, a much loved mum of Michelle, Peter, Michael and David, a dear mother in law of Mick, Jackie and Cath, a treasured grandma of Shelley, Sammy, Chloe, Charlotte, Callum, Joanne, Rachel, Kate and Michael, and also a cherished great grandma of Curtis, Oliver, Lily, Bella and Elena.
Her funeral service will take place on Monday13th June 2016, at 12.30pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please but donations are welcome in memory of Sheila for Macmillan Cancer Support or Marie Curie Cancer c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
