Sheena Joinson

Sheena Joinson of Laneside Avenue, Accrington, passed away peacefully at home after a short illness, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday 25^th July, aged 90 years.

Sheena was born in Scotland and as a teenager travelled to Lancashire to pursue a nursing career.  She also owned and ran a poultry farm in Clayton-le-Moors, as well as building up a successful catering company with her husband Alan, culminating in the creation of the popular “Berkley Banqueting Suite” in Accrington.

In her spare time and during her retirement Sheena kept herself occupied with various activities including computer studies, Tai Chi and games and puzzles that would help keep her mind active, she was also a passionate reader.

Sheena sadly leaves behind her much loved children, Kevin, Elaine and Andrew, her daughter in laws Barbara and Norma, her son in law Bernie, her treasured grandchildren Joe, Sam, Dorian, Lara, Daniel and Ellie, Cara and Andrew.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
