Rodney Parkinson

Rodney Parkinson of Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully in Church View Nursing Home on Tuesday 11^th September 2018.

In his early years Rodney attended Accrington Grammar School.  Rodney was a hard worker and during his life worked as a chartered engineer for English Electrics in Clayton-Le-Moors as well as with the Council doing landscaping schemes and Belling.

Rodney was a devoted member of the Accrington & District Riding Club of which he served as their Chairman, he was also a member of the History Society, the Civic Society, the W/W Yorkshire Terrier Society and also the Archery Club in Accrington (many years ago).

In his spare time he loved taking care of animals including horses, chickens as well as his pet dogs and cats.  Most of all though he loved spending time with his family and took pleasure in going away on holiday in the caravan and also to Turkey

He will be very sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Rodney sadly leaves behind his devoted and dearly loved wife Rubena, his much loved daughters Heather and Gale, his dear son in laws Simon and Christopher, his treasured grandchildren Matthew, Becky, Christopher, Emma, Elizabeth and Claire, his cherished great grandchildren Florance and Noah and also his dear sister Lesley.

His funeral service will be held at 3.00pm, on Wednesday 19^th September 2018 at Immanuel Parish Church, Oswaldtwistle prior to interment in the churchyard.
