Richard Starkie
Richard Starkie of Springfield Mews, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully in the Royal Blackburn hospital, after a short illness, on Tuesday 4th January 2022, aged 84 years.
During his life Richard worked for various companies including on the Railway, as a dray man for Duttons & Lion, as a HGV driver for Gilbraiths and also for a time at the Shopfitters in Oswaldtwistle.
In his spare time and during his retirement he liked researching, visiting and riding all different types of transport, especially trains, one of his favourites being the Am-Track in America, as well as the trams at Blackpool, as he was an avid rail enthusiast, he also liked vintage cars. He was also very knowledgeable about Geography and liked sports including football, snooker and darts.
Richard sadly leaves behind his dearly loving wife Jean, his much loved children Paul and Deborah, his treasured grandchildren Matthew, Adam and Lyndsay and his cherished great grandchildren Tillie-Mya, Freddie, Emily, Faye, Ava and Luca.
He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
His funeral service will take place at 3.00pm, on Thursday 20th January 2022 at Accrington Crematorium.
