Rachel McClure of Lyndhurst Avenue, Knuzden passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in hospital, with her loving family by her side, after a short battle with cancer, very bravely fought on Thursday 18th February, aged 48 years.
After leaving school Rachel attended Blackburn College and worked part time at B&Q before working at Jones Florist as a delivery driver. After attending Myerscough College for Floristry, she worked at a shop in Preston, where she later took over running it before moving to Accrington to open a shop there. It was after she had her beloved son Myles that she moved to Oswaldtwistle and bought Garlands Flower Shop where she spent 17 happy years creating beautiful floral arrangements for her customers.
In her spare time she attended Holy Trinity Church in Oswaldtwistle where she also served as a church warden and sang in the choir, she was also the Chair of Governors at Moor End Primary School in Oswaldtwistle. At home she loved spending time in her garden and doting on her 6 cats. She also greatly enjoyed travelling and loved her breaks away with her family to Torquay.
Rachel was a great supporter of her local community and voluntary groups, she supported them in many ways from raffle prizes and vouchers to attending charity events.
She sadly leaves behind her beloved husband and soulmate Simon, her treasured son Myles and his fiancée Olivia and her much loved father Ronnie.
Her beautiful smile, love and friendship will be very sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A private funeral service will be held for family and invited close friends only (due to the current Government restrictions).
