Michael John Trickett

Michael John Trickett, of Aspen Lane, Oswaldtwsitle, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a bravely fought battle with cancer on Thursday 27^th May, aged 78 years.

Throughout his life Michael was a hard worker.  He served as a Corporal in the Royal Air Service Core, worked as a Manager at Tilcon/Trumix, also drove HGV’s for a time and later worked at Lancashire County Council in the Operations Department before taking his retirement.

During his retirement and in his spare time, he loved gardening and was well known up Aspen Lane for his immaculate and beautiful garden, he also loved his cars, of which he could often be seen washing and polishing them on his driveway.  He also enjoyed reading books, especially ones on war and history.  He was also a big family man and loved spending time with them.

Michael also dedicated a lot of his time to numerous Dementia groups and organisations after his beloved wife Norma was diagnosed.  He helped spread the word about the support available, as well as campaigning for patients living with Dementia to have tailored treatment in hospital, using the Butterfly Scheme.  He was also a member and supporter of his local Royal British Legion Branch of Church & Oswaldtwistle.

A devoted and beloved husband of the late Norma, a loving father of Michelle, Jeanette, Maxine and Joanne, a dear father in law of Michael and Anthony and a much loved grandfather and great grandfather.

Michael will be very sadly missed by all those who knew him.

A private funeral service will be held for immediate family and invited close friends only (due to the current restrictions).
