Mavis Carter

Mavis Carter passed away peacefully on Monday 24^th October 2022, in Vine House Care Home, Oswaldtwistle, aged 84 years.

During her life Mavis was a hard worker, and has had various jobs over the years, including beginning her career as a nurse before having her children, she also taught Spanish at night school, worked at Mullards’s in the 60’s & early 70’s, Rist Wires in the 70’s and Prestfield Fabrics during the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s before retiring at the age of 61.

Mavis greatly enjoyed socialising especially the times dancing with her friends at the Knuzden Club and the Brooks Club.  She loved going for meals out and going away on holiday and has travelled all around Europe together with her late husband Rex, with Benidorm being one of her favourite places. But most of all she greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting them in London.

A dearly loved wife of the late Rex, a much loved mother of Vernon, Grant, Stephen and Jacqueline, a dear mother in law of Nicci, Teresa, Tony and the late Liz, a treasured grandma of Craig, Tristan, Lisa, Adam, Rebecca, Danny and Christian, also a loving great grandma, a dear brother of Dave and good friend to Carolyn.

She will be very sadly missed by all those who knew her.

Her funeral service will take place at 3.00pm, on Tuesday 1^st November 2022, at Accrington Crematorium.
