Margaret Jean Bentley

Former mill worker Margaret Jean Bentley, of Lime Avenue, Oswaldtwistle died on Saturday, Septmeber 1 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital aged 68.

She started work as a young woman at Jazz Broadleys followed by Highams then finishing her working life at Calligen Foam, Mrs Bentley was a member of the Poplar Workin Men’s club for many years.  She enjoyed many holidays abroad with her late husband Tom and she always enjoyed socialising in her local pub spending time with her sisters.

She was the wife of the late Tom Bentley and sister-in-law of the late Frank.  She leaves her sister Maureen and her partner George, her sister Pat and brother–in-law Jim, her sister Pauline and brother-in-law Charlie, and nieces and nephews Karen, Jean, Michel and Julie, Michelle, Simion and Craig.

A funeral service led by the Rev John Holland was held on Tuesday, September 11 at Accrington Crematorium.
