Leslie Smith

Mr Leslie Smith of Trinity Street, Oswaldtwistle died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Sunday 3^rd February 2013, aged 77 years.  He worked for Huncoat Pitt from the age of 16.  He also worked for Cockers and Blythes.  His happiest years were at The Carbo Abrasives Company which was originally based in Clayton-Le-Moors. He was also a member of the Pioneer and Platts Social Club.  He loved socialising, having a pint, as well as an occasional flutter on the horses.  He enjoyed playing bingo and also the Irish lottery.  The dearly loved husband of Patricia. A much loved father of David, a dear father-in-law to Gillian. A treasured grandad to Gemma & John, Nichola, Alex, Aaron, Ryan, and Kyle also a loving great-grandad to Riley, James and Hayden.

A funeral service will be held on Friday 15^th February 2013 at 11.00am prior cremation at Accrington Crematorium.  Family flowers only please but donations are welcomed for the East Lancashire Hospice and may be sent c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
