John Westwell

John Westwell formerly of Merlin Court, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully at Pendle Brook Care Home, on Saturday 17^th September 2022, aged 81 years.

In his younger years he worked in Camden, London, as a fireman on steam trains, as well as on the Rosegrove Railway. He also later became a coach driver for B.Sandiford & Sons and also Fraser Eagle.

In his spare time and during his retirement he was a miniature railway enthusiast and loved making his own unique model layouts.  He also enjoyed collecting model trains, coaches and buses, as well as listening to music, with his favourite of all time being Elvis.

John sadly leaves behind his much loved sons John, Paul, Graham and Steven, his loving daughter in laws Gill, Janet, Lynn and Elysha, his treasured grandchildren Alix, Nia, Bradley, Amy, Dominic, Jack, Skyla, Theon and Eli and great grandson Colby.  He was also a dear brother of Norma and friend to many.

The family have requested for people attending on the day to wear something blue as this was John’s favourite colour.

His celebration of life service will be held at 3.00pm, on Friday 7^th October 2022 at Accrington Crematorium.
