John (Jack) Heyes

Jack Heyes of Oswaldtwistle, passed away suddenly in hospital after a short illness on Sunday 16^th June 2019, aged 92 years.

In 1941, Jack left school and started work at Howard & Bullough’s as a tool fitter and draughtsman, he also worked for a number of other local engineering companies throughout his life including JT Rothwells.

During his life Jack was a keen amateur sportsman and greatly enjoyed playing football and cricket.  He was captain of two successful teams, Howard & Bullough and Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, he also later became a manager of Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s.

Jack was a devoted family man and took great pleasure in following his grandson’s progress over the years with a keen interest.

A dearly loving husband for 69 years of Rena, a much loved father of Martin and Jill, a dear father in law of Alison and Eddie and also a treasured grandad of Jack, Fergus and Niall.

Jack will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends.

His funeral service will take place at 2.20pm, Friday 28^th June 2019, at Accrington Crematorium.
