John Henry Brooks

John Henry Brooks, the long time boyfriend of Kathleen Ainsworth, has died at the age of 71 years.  He died on Saturday November 6th in the Royal Blackburn Hospital from cancer.

At the time of his death he was living with Kathleen at The Grove, Oswaldtwistle, having moved over here from Sheffield where he was born and bred.  Now retired, he had last worked as a machinist for a steel works, Meldrums in Sheffield.

John and Kathleen met on holiday in Crete, 28 years ago and over the years enjoyed many more holidays together, both at home and abroad.  He was interested in sport, particularly horse racing and football and always followed the fortunes of his local team, Sheffield United.

He leaves an older sister Connie and a nephew and nieces.

John will be very sadly missed by all those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11.40am, on Wednesday 17th November at Accrington Crematorium.
