John Francis of Accrington, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday 13th March 2021, aged 87 years.
John started his working life completing his National Service in the Army, he then worked at Ewbank and later Burco, finishing up at the Shopfitters in the accounts department as a wages clerk.
A favourite past time of John’s was playing golf at Green Howarth Golf Club where he was a member, he also played in numerous golf tournaments, John was also keen on many other sports too including football, cricket, badminton. He also enjoyed playing snooker with friends at Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club, listening to music and doting on his dog Molly. In his spare time and during his retirement he enjoyed going on holidays with his family, especially to Rhodes in Greece, camping in the south of France, as well as breaks away in Wales and Devon. He also liked tinkering with technology and was always the first to buy the latest gadgets including video recorders and computers.
John sadly leaves behind his loving wife Margaret, his dearly loved children Anne and Martin, his dear son in law Tobi and dear daughter in law Georgina and his much loved grandchildren Olli, Sam and Alex.
He will be very sadly missed by all those who knew him.
A private funeral service will be held for immediate family and invited close friends only (due to the current restrictions).
