Jeffrey Sumner
Mr Jeffrey Sumner of Colne Road, Kelbrook and formerly of Kingsway, Accrington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2nd, aged 55.
After attending Accrington and Rossendale College, where he studied catering, he went on to become an accomplished chef. Jeffrey was an extremely hard worker, and he worked at many places around the country as a chef. Most notably The Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells, where he started as chef de partie and worked his way up to second chef. He leaves behind his job as head chef at Rolls-Royce Leisure Club, Barnoldswick.
In his spare time he enjoyed playing and watching sport. In his younger years he played for Enfield Cricket Club from juniors up to seniors. He was a supporter of Blackburn Rovers and Accrington Stanley, and for the last few years had been a regular at North Ribb Rugby Club, Settle. He loved to travel. On spare weekends he would travel around England and Scotland on the train to visit football grounds, and any time off work would be for a holiday. He travelled to many states in the U.S.A, and Canada, visited Dubai and explored Europe.
Jeffrey was the greatly loved partner of Suzanne, a much loved father of Lucinda and Ryan, adored grandad of Indy. Beloved son of Christine and the late Norman, and dearly loved brother of Diane and Heather. He will be sadly missed by all his family and everyone who knew him.
A private funeral service for family and close friends will be held due to the current restrictions.
