Jean Kay

Jean Kay of Somerset Grove, Church, Accrington, passed away at home, on Sunday 16^th April 2023, aged 92 years.

Throughout her life Jean was a very social person, and was probably best known for working in the cocktail bar at the Commercial and then later the Astronaut.

After taking her retirement early, she helped look after her granddaughter Sonia, when she was a child, quite a lot at the weekends, and of which they now share a special bond..  In her spare time, Jean loved going dancing and also enjoyed many holidays to Europe with her long-term partner Keith, with Cyprus being one of her favourite destinations.  She was also an avid animal charity supporter, in particular the RSPCA and PDSA and over the years she has given many cats a loving home, with Coco now being her last feline friend. Jean was a faithful lady and believed in God and the church, although she didn’t actively practice worship.

Jean sadly leaves behind her much loved children Lynne and Gary, her treasured grandaughter Sonia and her cherished great grandchildren Lara and Jensen.  Jean will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and all those who knew her.

Her funeral service will be held at 12.20pm on Tuesday 2^nd May 2023, at Accrington Crematorium.
