James Albert Illingworth
James Albert Illingworth of Dorchester Avenue, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday 15th June 2017, aged 88 years.
Throughout his life Albert was a hard worker, he started out at Accrington Colliery and was employed as an electrician for many years, he later worked at Huncoat Power Station for a further 20 years. In his youth he enjoyed going with his family on holidays and outings to Fleetwood. Albert was very much a home-bird but he did make the exception by taking occasional trips to the Isle of Man to watch his beloved TT Racing, and in his younger years even competed in the circuit there. He also enjoyed fly-fishing, darts and going for a pint in the Willow Mount Club up until it closed.
Albert will be sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbours.
He was a much loved uncle to Mike and his wife Tina. He also leaves behind his dear nephew Andrew.
A celebration of life service will be held at 9.45am, on Wednesday 28th June 2017, in the Barton & Hallworth Service Chapel at The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, prior to interment at Accrington Cemetery.
