Jack Eccles
Mr Jack Eccles of Park Lane, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully after a short illness on Friday, October 3, 2014, aged 91 years.
During his life Jack served as an apprentice at Accrington Motors before he emigrated to Kenya in 1952. Whilst in Kenya he worked for the Forestry Commission as a mechanical engineer. In 1971 Jack moved to Belize where he worked again as a mechanical engineer as well as in road construction, he then moved to St Lucia for a few years before returning to Belize in 1980. Jack then retired and returned home to the UK in 1987.
In his spare time Jack took pleasure in keeping tropical and marine fish, he enjoyed playing and watching cricket but was happiest when spending time with his beloved dogs.
The dearly loving husband of the late Margaret, a much loved father of Jacqueline, a dear father in law of Steve, and a also a loving brother, brother in law and uncle.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, at 1.30pm at Immanuel Parish Church prior to interment in the churchyard. Family flowers only please but donations are welcome in memory of Jack for the RSPCA and may be sent c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
