Irene Barnes

Irene Barnes of Durham Drive, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully in hospital on Saturday 27^th April 2019, aged 88 years.

During her life Irene worked at Mullards for 35 years and for many years was a loyal and dedicated committee member of the Arthritis Society as well as a member of Rhyddings Methodist Church.  In recognition of all her charity work she was awarded with the Freedom Of the Borough from Hyndburn Borough Council.

In her spare time and during her retirement she liked painting, flower arranging, cooking, singing and spending time with her family.

Irene sadly leaves behind her nephew and nieces, Keith, Pat, Lucy and family, Linda, Norman, Ian, Emma and family, Melanie, Paul, Natalie, Philip and family and also cousin Gordon, Audrey and family.

She will be very sadly missed by her family and all those who knew her.

Her funeral service will take place at 10.00am, on Tuesday 7^th May 2019, at Rhyddings Methodist Church, Oswaldtwistle prior to committal at Accrington Crematorium.
