Ian JeffreyIan Jeffrey of Blackburn, died peacefully on Saturday 5th September 2015, aged 72 years.

During his life Ian had a fulfilled and varied career.  For 21 years he was a Police motor mechanic, he then changed trades and became a bus driver for Stagecoach and later for Burnley & Pendle.

Ian was a Past Councillor for Brierfield Town Council, he also was a member of the Accrington Pipe Band, The Royal British Legion (Nelson Branch) and the Royal Airforce Association, where he was Welfare Officer for the Skipton Branch.

In his spare time Ian enjoyed playing the organ, socialising and meeting people, walking, reading and also playing the bag pipes.

He leaves behind his much loved daughter Lynn, his dearly loved son Peter, his dear uncles John and Bill and auntie Betty and cousin Angus.

Ian’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday 16th September, at 1.45pm at St Paul’s Church, Oswaldtwistle, prior to committal at Burnley Crematorium.  Family flowers only please, however donations may be sent in memory of Ian for The Christie Hospital in Manchester c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
