Hermon Coker Burgess

Hermon Burgess of Aitken Street, Accrington, passed away peacefully at home, whilst surrounded by his loving family on Thursday 8^th February 2018, aged 83 years.

In his youth Hermon attended St John’s Primary School in Accrington, he later then completed his National Service.  Hermon was a hard worker and worked as a Joiner for various companies including Finch Watsons, Mullen & Durkin, Langs and Brook House Castings.  He also did a stint as a part-time salesman selling seafood around the pubs and clubs.

In his spare time and during his retirement Hermon took pleasure in going sailing, especially in his yacht named Piddling One. He also enjoyed camping, photography and collecting oddities.

Hermon was a most honourable and kind hearted Dad and Grandad.  “They truly broke the mould when they made you. It has been a great pleasure to be a part of your family.”

Hermon will be very sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and friends.

A dearly loved dad of Gary and Beverley, a dear father in law of Robin, a much loved grandad of Gemma and her husband Sam and also a treasured great-grandad of Charlie and Arthur.

His funeral service will be held at 10.30am, (today) Friday 16^th February 2018 at St Paul’s Church, Accrington prior to a private family committal at Accrington Crematorium.
