Graham Gooding
Graham Gooding of Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday 23rd July 2019, aged 75 years.
Born in Hull, Graham attended Cavendish Road Primary School and Jervis High School before working at Tugs, the Co-op Garage and AB Motors, in Hull. After moving to Lancashire in 1986, Graham worked at Chequers Builders and then was a caretaker at All Saints Primary School in Clayton-le-Moors until his retirement.
Graham had lots of hobbies and interests and was an animal lover. However, his first love was motorbikes. He rode for 60 years and could either be found tinkering in his shed, polishing his bikes or enjoying being out on the open roads. He loved meeting up with his biker friends at Rivington Barn, Settle, Devil’s Bridge or Knott End to have a brew or an ice cream. Graham also loved other outdoor pursuits such as fishing, cycling and also liked to fly his kites and model aeroplanes.
A dearly loving husband of Joan, a much loved father of Peter and Susan and also a devoted grandad of Fynn, Catherine, William, Seren and Edward. Graham will be very sadly missed by all his loving family and friends.
His funeral service will be held at 3.00pm on Monday 5th August 2019, at Accrington Crematorium.
Family flowers only please but donations to Lymphoma Action and Brake – the road safety charity – in memory of Graham are welcomed and may be sent c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. BB5 3DR. Tel: 01254 390542.
