Fred Tootle
Fred Tootle of Warwick Street, Church, Accrington, passed away peacefully in hospital on Tuesday 2nd February 2021, aged 79 years.
During his working life Fred had a variety of jobs including working at the Brickyard in Huncoat, in The Ordinance Company of the Army, as a window cleaner in London and also as a Bin Man for Hyndburn Council.
In his spare time and during his retirement he liked going out metal detecting, reading and delving into all sorts of History. He also loved spending time with his family and with George his Ginger Cat. He was also a member of the Veterans Society and the Royal British Legion – Church & Oswaldtwistle Branch.
Fred was a dearly loved husband of Ann, a much loved father of Carrie, Graham, Christine, Allan, Cate, Richard and Garry, he was also a treasured grandad of 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He will be very sadly missed by all those who knew him.
A private funeral service will be held for immediate family and invited close friends only (due to the current restrictions).

I have just watched Fred’s appearance on the game show Bob’s Full House, first shown in October 1987, repeated on BBC Four today. What a lovely man, will be sadly missed.
