Elsie TaylorElsie Taylor formerly of Lynwood Avenue, Clayton-Le-Moors, passed away peacefully at Springhill Care Home on Friday 7th December 2018, aged 91 years.

From 1939 Elsie attended Accrington High School, on leaving school she worked for eleven years as a clerk for Pearl Assurance Co in Accrington, before leaving to start a family.

In her younger years she enjoyed dancing, knitting and sewing. Later in life she took pleasure in going away on holiday and travelled to various places including Spain, Italy and the Greek Islands.  She loved going to the theatre to watch Musicals and was also a member of the New Jerusalem Church in Accrington.

One of her favourite past times was supporting her late husband Allan when he became the Chairman at Accrington Cricket Club by working in the tea room on match days.  She also collected door to door for Dr Barnardo’s many years ago.

Elsie sadly leaves behind her dearly loved children Susan and Mark, her dear daughter in law Kathryn and her treasured grandchildren Matthew and Amy.

Her funeral service will be held on at 11.00pm on Monday 17th December 2018 at Accrington Crematorium.
