Dorothy Gerrard

Dorothy Gerrard of Hawthorn Bank, Altham passed away peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Friday 19^th October 2018, aged 76 years.

Over the years Dorothy worked for various companies including Smith Printers in Rishton, Edwards Printers in Preston and also for Ward Knowles in Oswaldtwistle.

In her spare time and during her retirement she enjoyed gardening, walking the dog and taking care of her cats.  Dorothy spent many years caravanning at Dobrudden Farm, in Baildon, Yorkshire with family, friends and her beloved dogs.  She was also a member of Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary.

The family would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to Liz, Vicky & Dave for all their help and support, to Andy & Margaret for their continued support and friendship and also thank you to the paramedics, doctors and staff at AMU and Resus at the Royal Blackburn Hospital for all the care they gave to Dorothy.

A dearly loved sister of Peter, a much loved cousin of Keith, Darryl, Julie, Geraldine and Georgina and a dear Godmother of John Alan Robb and Abigail Pinder.

Her funeral service will be held at 11.30am, on Tuesday 30^th October 2018 at St James Church, Altham prior to burial at Dill Hall Cemetery.
