Doreen Smith

Doreen Smith of Church, Accrington died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital after a short illness on Monday 6^th July, 2015, aged 72 years.

During her life Doreen worked as a supervisor at Calogen up until her retirement in 1998, she also worked and managed the Texaco Garage on Blackburn Road.  In her spare time and during her retirement she enjoyed dog walking up and around the Coppice, where over the years she made lots of friends.  She also loved motor homing and was also an avid reader.

Doreen leaves behind her dearly loved sister Hilde, her much loved son Ronnie, her treasured grandchildren Gemma and Sam and her cherished great grandchildren Charlie and Arthur.

A funeral service will be held today (Friday 17^th July, 2015) at Accrington Crematorium, at 10.20am.  Family flowers only please but donations are welcomed in memory of Doreen for Marie Curie Cancer Care c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
