David Farmer - 1David Farmer of Blackburn Road, Accrington, sadly passed away at home, on Friday 7th July 2017, aged 74 years.

Brought up in Scotland, he attended Granton Primary School in Edinburgh followed by David Kilpatrick High School also in Edinburgh.   He then served for 22 years in the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders before working for the Social Services department for Lancashire County Council as a driver/attendant and transport supervisor.

The Highlanders were very close to David’s heart and he was a life member of the Gordon Highlander’s Association.  In his spare time he enjoyed travelling, reading, watching films and also sports.

David sadly leaves behind his dearly loving wife Norma, his much loved daughters Janet, Julie and Joann, his dear son in laws Grant, Gavin and Paul, his treasured grandchildren Sarah, Andrew, Devon, Olivia and Ben and his cherished great grandson Logan.  He was also a loving brother and uncle.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday 19th July at 3.00pm at Accrington Crematorium.  Family flowers only please but donations are welcomed in memory of David for Macmillan Cancer Support c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
