Colin Wilcox
Colin Wilcox of Worsley Court, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully in hospital on Friday 11th December 2020, aged 81 years.
Colin has had a varied career over the years and has included working as a singer with BBC Manchester, as an Engineer in Denton, Greater Manchester, as a Warehouseman at Parker International in Dukinfield as well as a building labourer, salesman and a pet shop proprietor.
In his spare time he enjoyed Crown Green Bowling, watching films and was a huge pet lover, he also used to entertain the crowds as a singing and comedy double act, alongside his late brother Eric. Singing and entertaining was a large part of Colin’s life and whilst living in Perranporth, Cornwall he was member of the Amateur Dramatics group and when he returned back up north, he joined and sang with the Pendle Stroke Association Choir. Snooker was also a favourite past time of Colin’s. He passed on his snooker skills by teaching his son John to play at the early age of 5, and they have continued to play regularly up until his eye sight started to fail at the age of 80.
Colin will be sadly missed by his dearly loving son John, his lifelong partner Vonnie and his much loved grandchildren Kate and Jake and all those who knew him.
