Clare Doreen Maud

Miss Clare Doreen Maud of Springhill Care Home, Accrington and formerly of Blackburn Road, West End, Oswaldtwistle died peacefully in the Blackburn Hospital on Monday, March 25, aged 83 years.

Doreen was a primary school teacher throughout her working life and taught at several local schools in the area.  She was also a keen volunteer for the RNIB Charity Shop in Accrington.  Doreen greatly enjoyed travelling and her trips included extensive worldwide travel to countries including Alaska, Australia, most of Europe and The Holy Land.

She was a dearly loved daughter of the late Ann and Fred, a much loved sister of the late Billy, a treasured aunty of Tony and Stephen and cousin to the late Joyce.  Doreen was a life-long friend of Marian and a good friend to many others.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Mary’s RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, officiated by Monsignor John at 10.00am on Thursday, April 4, prior to burial at Dill Hall Lane Cemetery.
