David Bond

David Bond

David Bond of Green Haworth Farm, Green Haworth, Accrington, died peacefully in hospital on Wednesday 29th January 2025, aged 89 years.

During his life David was a hard worker and farmed all his life.  He also worked in the pits (coal mines) at Scaitcliffe in Accrington, Hapton Valley in Burnley and at Agecroft in Manchester.

In his spare time and during his retirement he loved going away on holiday, especially to Kenya, a place he visited every year for 20 years.  He also loved spending time with his loving family and enjoyed playing golf in his earlier years.

A dearly loved husband of the late Betty. David sadly leaves behind his much loved children Michael, Stuart, Jan and Cath, his treasured grandchildren Stephen, Kelly, Adrian, Jennifer, Dan, Hannah, Emily and Jake and his cherished great grandchildren, Ryan, Lola, Penny, Joseph, Lucie, Gabriella, Ava, Jackson, George, Arthur and Archie.

A celebration of life service will take place at 3.00pm, on Friday 14th February 2025, at Accrington Crematorium.

Family flowers only please but donations are being welcomed in memory of David for Dementia UK and may be sent c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. BB5 3DR.  Tel: 01254 390542.
