Bob Boreham

Robert Henry BorehamRobert Boreham of Eachill Gardens, Rishton, died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Saturday 31st October 2015, aged 81 years.

During his life he worked as an Airforce fitter for many years, later on at Lupton’s Engineering in Accrington and also English Electric at Clayton-Le-Moors. He always took pleasure in travelling to and from work on his motorbike.

Known to his friends as Bob, he always liked to be outdoors. He enjoyed going fishing but especially liked to walk or ride his bike along the canal, often for miles and miles.  Later on in life he enjoyed holidays to Cyprus, Crete and Spain and back home loved going out on his mobility scooter.   He also liked taking photos and did a lot of photography.

He loved to socialise and was a member Rishton Working Mens Club, he was on the committee for many years and also helped out working behind the bar.  He was also a member of Rishton Conservative Club and Rishton Cricket Club.

Bob leaves behind his dearly loved wife Maureen, his much loved daughter Lynn and son in law Tony, he was also a treasured grandad of Warren and Jade, Martine and Nic and a cherished great grandad of Beth.

His funeral service will be held on Friday 13th November, at 9.40am, at Accrington Crematorium.
