Beverley Jean Wilkin
Beverley Wilkin was best known to many as Bev from The Glory Hole on Warner Street, Accrington. She died peacefully in hospital whilst surrounded by her loving family on Thursday 18th May 2017, aged 72 years.
Beverley was a much loved and well respected member of the community. In her early working years she became one of the first hairdressers in Accrington. Around 1980 she became ill and unfortunately this prevented her from continuing to be a hairdresser. She therefore, in the early eighties, opened her beloved “Glory Hole” where she trained and qualified in Cyrals Aromatherapy and also became a Reiki Master. Over the years she has helped hundreds of people, of which she never charged for and was always there for people when they needed her. This was proven by the amount of people who have contacted the family to offer their condolences.
In her spare time she enjoyed caravanning and dog walking and was also a member of Maundy Grange.
Beverley was a dearly loved wife of Norman, a much loved mother of Becky, Jonathan, Christine, David and Michael, a treasured nana, a cherished great nana and a much loved sister.
The funeral cortege will gather at 9.10am at her beloved Glory Hole on Thursday 25th May, it will then proceed down Warner Street, before continuing to Accrington Crematorium for the service at 9.40am.
Family flowers only please but donations are welcome in memory of Beverley for the charity Hyndburn Stray Dogs In Need and may be sent c/o Paul Barton at Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. BB5 3DR. Tel: 01254 390542.
I miss you Mum x
