Anne Freeman
Anne Freeman, of Poplar Close, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully in hospital, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday 13th December 2022, aged 74 years.
She started her working life as a trainee secretary and worked for Lupton Brothers, she then progressed to William Blythe’s as secretary to the Sales Director. In 1973, she left to take the time to raise her family. Then once her family had grown up, she joined D Mayes and Co Accountants in Accrington. In later years, she moved to ELTEC in Clayton-Le-Moors, before taking her retirement.
In her spare time and during her retirement she loved knitting, listening to folk music and travelling, having just returned from an extended trip to Spain and Italy in September, celebrating 50 years of marriage, with cruising also being a particular favourite. But most of all she enjoyed being in the company of her family and close friends. She was also a familiar face with her role as a volunteer for the NSPCC.
Anne sadly leaves behind her dearly loved husband Kenneth, her much loved children Louise and Martin and their partners David and Joanna, her treasured grandchildren Hugh and Sophia, her dear brother Byron and sister Mary, her sister in law’s Anne and Eileen and brother in law Jeffrey. She was also a loving auntie to Lee, Christopher, Angela, Suzanne, Tracey, Paul and John.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 1.00pm on Friday 23rd December, at Accrington Crematorium.
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in memory of Anne for the NSPCC, further enquires to Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. BB5 3DR. Tel: 01254 390542.
