Ann Waring

Ann Waring of High Street, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully at home, on Sunday 6th October 2024, aged 73 years.

During her life Ann worked at Philips in Simonstone for many years and made lifelong friends along the way until she was made redundant. After this, she changed her vocation and studied Horticulture at Mysercough College gaining a BSc and BA Hons.  She then went on to work in various garden centres building her vast knowledge of plants before teaching for many years at Shuttleworth College in Bedfordshire until she retired.

In her spare time Ann’s passion was gardening, as well as travelling and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was the Chairperson of the Institute of Horticulture Eastern Branch and was also the organiser of the Young Horticulture of the Year Nationwide Competition.  She also loved browsing round the charity shops looking for a bargain.

Ann sadly leaves behind her dearly loved husband Jim, her much loved daughter Martina and her husband Luke and her treasured grandchildren Keira, Rory and Jay.

Ann will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10.00am, on Friday 25th October 2024, in the chapel at Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, Oswaldtwistle, prior to interment at Dill Hall Cemetery.
