Amy Cowburn

Amy Cowburn of Milton Street, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully at home on Tuesday 10^th October 2023, aged 84 years.

In her younger years Amy started work at a bakery in Church then moved onto Mullards and later Enfield Mill.  She then had a wool shop in Oswaldtwistle and was also the caretaker at Oswald’s School in Knuzden.

In her spare time and during her retirement she was a member of the Oswaldtwistle WI, where she served as their President, as well as St Paul’s Church and the Civic Society for a time.  She also liked going on cruises and knitting.

A dearly loved wife of Brian, a much loved mother of Jacqueline, Alison and Adam, a treasured grandma of Lian, Laurie, Andrew, Liam, Matthew, Leonna, Josh, Luke and Kimberly and great grandma to 8 great grandchildren.

Amy will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.

Her funeral service will be held at 9.45am on Thursday 19^th October 2023, at St Paul’s Church, Oswaldtwistle, prior to committal at Accrington Crematorium.
