Alan Hitchen

Alan Hitchen of Empress Street, Accrington, died peacefully on Monday 29th January 2024, aged 62 years.

During his life Alan has had a varied career, starting out in the Army, he has also worked in the Lion Brewery, Trevor Bolton Steel Works, as well as working and owning several pubs before retiring due to ill health.

In his spare time he enjoyed watching Blackburn Rovers with his son Arron, he also enjoyed travelling, specially going on holiday to Benidorm, with his partner Hayley and friends. He was also a bit of a hustler at pool and enjoyed playing dominoes. He loved listening to music and also dancing, as well as socialising with friends in his local pubs and clubs.  A proud moment for Alan and his claim to fame was that in 1988, he also featured in the movie Nature Of The Beast.

Alan was a dearly loved son of the late Joyce and Gordon and a dear brother of the late Jackie and John. He also sadly leaves behind his dearly loved long time partner Hayley, his much loved son Arron, his treasured grandchildren Georgie and Frankie and his dear sister Chantel.  He was also a loving uncle to many but in particular Chrissie and also Scott, who he helped raise after his dear sister Jackie sadly passed away.  He will also be very sadly missed by his many great nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 9.40am on Wednesday 14th February 2024, at Accrington Crematorium.
