In loving memory of Jean Dearnaley, aged 72, who sadly passed away on 14th February 2026, surrounded by her loved ones in Royal Blackburn hospital, after a brave battle with an illness. Jean was born on 13th August 1953 to the late Martyn Bednarczuk and Rose Bednarczuk and was a highly passionate lady with a heart of pure gold and whose life goals were to see her children and grandchildren excel in life.

During her working years she worked for various companies such as Stockley’s, Metcalf’s and Slingers, where she was a cleaner, which was another of her passions, and when she was younger, she even tried her hand at hair dressing.

Ultimately, home was where her heart was, with Jean pouring all of her energy into making a beautiful home and taking care of her adoring children Amanda, Carl, Clive and Victoria. With her doing all that she could to ensure that they have the best life possible. Jean’s grandchildren were the absolute light of her life; she so loved spending time with them and helping them to blossom into the amazing people they have become today. Megan, Natasha, Chelsea, Ethan and Jonathan held a special place in Jean’s heart. Family was most important to Jean, she greatly enjoyed gatherings where she could sit with her sister Elaine, brother Martyn and nieces Amber and Tamzin, and great nephew baby Freddie, drinking lots of tea and having a gossip about anything and everything. For many years, she loved her holidays to the caravan in both England and Spain with her loving husband Frank. Jean also had many interests outside of family, she enjoyed walking, going on cruises, spending time with her dog Sky and going shopping, she loved shopping!  Jean loved watching the soaps as well as reading and before she moved out of the Church area, she also used to enjoy going to Ernest St Baptist Church on a Wednesday and socialising there.

Jean was an amazing lady and if you knew her, you were blessed to have her in your life. Nothing and no one can compare to Jean and who she was in life and that is shown by the deep love that is felt for her, coupled with the profound sense of loss that her family feel. Good night and God bless to a spectacularly beautiful woman.

A celebration of her life will be held at 9.40am, on Thursday 26th February 2026, at Accrington Crematorium.  Family flowers only please, with donations in memory of Jean being welcomed for Cancer Research UK, further enquires please to Paul or Sarah of Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. BB5 3DR.  Tel: 01254 390542.
