Vincent (Vinnie) Wright

vincent-wrightVinnie Wright of Sands Close, Rishton, died peacefully in Burnley General Hospital on Friday 2nd September 2016, aged 78 years.

At the age of 15 Vinnie went to serve in the Fleet Air Arms for several years and enjoyed his time spent there.  On leaving he began work on the Dreys.  After that he worked at Bowkers Transport as a HGV driver, travelling both nationally and internationally before working for numerous other firms up until his retirement. However without a doubt his main passion was always for the Fleet Air Arms.

During his life Vinnie was a member of the Royal British Legion, as well as other local social clubs.  His favourite past time in the clubs included Country and Western themed events, when his whole family would get involved by dressing up and taking part on a Sunday.

In later years Vinnie enjoyed socialising at the Elysium Club, and took pleasure in getting extra cake there, especially his favourite current cake with butter.

Vinnie was a dearly loved husband of the late Sandra, a much loved father of Melanie, a treasured grandad of Brandon and Codey and a dear brother of Jean, Graham, Leon and the late Eric.

He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and friends.

His funeral service will take place at 9.40am on Tuesday 13th September 2016 at Accrington Crematorium.  Family flowers only please but donations are welcomed in memory of Vinnie for the Help For Heroes Charity c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
