Rodney Garrett

Rodney Garrett known as Big Rod, of Manor Brook, Accrington and formerly of Harwood Bar, Great Harwood died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday, October 3, 2013 aged 72 years.

During his life Rodney worked at the Daisy Dairy, Tilcon and Bowker BMW.  He was also a special constable and a reserve fireman.  Rodney greatly enjoyed rock music and holidays, especially the Calgary Stampede.

He leaves behind his dearly loved wife Marian, his much loved family Anthony and Elaine, Michael and Donna, Angela and Andrew, Adele and Brendan, Sharon and Peter, also not forgetting his treasured grandchildren Stephanie, Gabrielle, Nathan, Leighton, Rebeca, Emily, Jack and Holly.

“Rodney will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends.”

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1.40pam at Accrington Crematorium prior to cremation.  Family flowers only please, but donations are welcomed and may be sent for Ward C10 (Chemo Unit) at the Royal Blackburn Hospital or Macmillan Cancer Support c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
