Deeply Honoured to become an Alderman
Paul was very proud when he received the title of Honorary Alderman of Hyndburn at the Civic Celebration Day earlier this year.
It was awarded for his exemplary commitment to the community and his public service.
Councillor’s officially nominating and seconding the nomination said
“No one can question his commitment to his former council ward of Barnfield, where he served as their Councillor for 8 years working 24/7 to deal with local resident issues and being their voice on Hyndburn Borough Council. 7 years ago Paul was elected as the Mayor of Hyndburn and served the Borough proud as their first citizen. He worked tirelessly in his year to raise money for his chosen charities. Since then Paul has kept involved with these same charities raising thousands of pounds for them over the years. He has been involved in lots of fantastic local events bringing communities in Hyndburn together, from helping to resurrect the Ossy Carnival in 2014, hosting and sponsoring last year’s family Funday in Oakhill Park and not forgetting the annual Lancashire Luncheon which has been going since 2010 in celebration of Lancashire Day, to bring local residents as well as current and Past Mayor’s from across Lancashire together.
There is no doubt Paul will carry on his efforts but now as a proud Alderman, an award that he thoroughly deserves.”
