Annie Carabine
Annie Carabine, of Springfield Mews, Oswaldtwistle died peacefully in the General Hospital at Burnley on Monday 23rd November, 2015, aged 86 years.
Born in 1929, Annie grew up in Govan, Glasgow, where she worked at Rolls Royce as an inspector before moving to Oswaldtwistle in 1969. After the move she became an inspector at GEC in Clayton-Le-Moors for a number of years. She also spent time working for Cobbles in Blackburn and Minerva Electronics, Clayton-Le-Moors before her retirement.
Once retired Annie took pleasure in going away on holidays abroad, including Malta, Paris and Italy, whilst on her travels she met lots of new friends. She also enjoyed holidays in Spain and the UK with her family, and often took a trip back up north and travelled to the Highland of Scotland to visit places from her youth.
Annie was a very active lady and was a member of the Union Road Community Church, Age UK Luncheon Clubs, Hippings Luncheon Club and also the Accrington Lioness’. She also loved watching her grandson playing cricket at the weekends, going for family meals out to St Anne’s and shopping trips to Manchester and Oswaldtwistle Mills.
Annie leaves behind her dearly loved daughter Ann and much loved son Scott, her dear son in law Mark, her treasured grandson Matthew, she was also a loving auntie to Neil and Angela.
Her funeral service was held on Thursday 3rd December at 1.00pm at Accrington Crematorium.
