Shirley Thompson of Accrington, passed away peacefully on Monday 8th December 2025.
In her younger years Shirley appeared as a professional dancer on the London stage and toured performing in variety shows. She also later worked at Marks & Spencer and Porritts, before becoming a housewife, staying at home caring for her 2 children Scott and Sally Ann
In her spare time and during her retirement she loved taking part in Amateur Dramatics. She also attended church at both United Reformed and Christ Church in Accrington and in later life enjoyed rambling.
A dearly loved wife of the late Ronald, a much-loved mum of Scott and Sally Ann, a dear mother in law of Catherine and Paul, a treasured nana of Sophie, Amber, Katie, Ella, Ethan and Ben and great grandma to Isla and Freya.
Shirley will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12.20pm on Monday 29th December 2025 at Accrington Crematorium.
