Ray Higginbotton of Oswaldtwistle and formerly of Blackburn, passed away peacefully in the East Lancashire Hospice after a short illness, bravely fought on Monday 21st May 2018, aged 77 years.
Ray grew up in Blackburn before moving to Oswaldtwistle and throughout his life worked as a self-employed painter and decorator. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing out at sea, Ray also liked socialising, especially playing darts and dominoes for his local team at the Hare & Hounds in Oswaldtwistle. He also took pleasure in watching horse racing and going away on holiday his favourite destinations being Benidorm, Blackpool and also cruising around the Mediterranean.
Ray was a much loved husband to Jean, a treasured father to Lesley and Paul, a dear father in law to Beth and John and a cherished Da of Thomas and Deryn.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12.20pm, on Tuesday 29th May 2018 at Accrington Crematorium.
