John (Jack) HeyesJack Heyes of Oswaldtwistle, passed away suddenly in hospital after a short illness on Sunday 16th June 2019, aged 92 years.

In 1941, Jack left school and started work at Howard & Bullough’s as a tool fitter and draughtsman, he also worked for a number of other local engineering companies throughout his life including JT Rothwells.

During his life Jack was a keen amateur sportsman and greatly enjoyed playing football and cricket.  He was captain of two successful teams, Howard & Bullough and Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, he also later became a manager of Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s.

Jack was a devoted family man and took great pleasure in following his grandson’s progress over the years with a keen interest.

A dearly loving husband for 69 years of Rena, a much loved father of Martin and Jill, a dear father in law of Alison and Eddie and also a treasured grandad of Jack, Fergus and Niall.

Jack will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends.

His funeral service will take place at 2.20pm, Friday 28th June 2019, at Accrington Crematorium.
