Russell Walkden - cropRussell Walkden of Rydall Mount, Belthorn, passed away in the East Lancashire Hospice on Friday 19th June 2018, aged 50 years.

Russell grew up in Oswaldtwistlw on James Street and Paddock Street, but has lived in Belthorn for the past fourteen years. In his early years of working Russell worked for the Associated Dairies in Accrington before moving on to Millercare in Oswaldtwistle for a time and then finally at WEC Group at Guide.

Russell loved nothing better than spending his time with his family especially watching his son Elliot play cricket and football.  He loved walking the family dog Noah who adored him, he also liked building lego and playing snooker.  Russell loved socialising and took time out to meet up with his friends for a pint after work, starting in the early years in The Foxhill, and in more recent years the King Eddy, The Willows and The Dog Inn.  He took pleasure in going away on holiday in the UK including Whitby (where he loved the fish and chips) and Padstow in Cornwall as well as dining out and eating nice food.  He was a family man with many, many friends.

Russell sadly leaves behind his devoted and dearly loved wife Victoria, his much loved son and best friend of Elliot, he was also a treasured son of Kath and Tony, a dear brother of Anthony and Gary and a cherished uncle of Kelly, Oliver and Téa.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1.40pm, (today) Friday 29th June 2018 at Accrington Crematorium.

Family flowers only please, but donations are welcome in memory of Russell for the East Lancashire Hospice c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. BB5 3DR. Tel: 01254 390542
