In his younger years Neil attended Southport Grammar School and after leaving school served his apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker, he then went on to be a Director in a successful Engineering Company in Blackburn. Neil was diagnosed at the age of 13 with Diabetes, but this never held him back from living a full life. Several years ago he was featured in the local newspaper for receiving a top honour for being “An inspirational pensioner for coping for 65 years with Type 1 Diabetes” and was awarded a medal from the British Diabetes Association.
In his spare time and during his retirement Neil took pleasure in Model Railways and books. He also had a great passion for cars old and new.
A much loved husband and soulmate to Sheila, a devoted dad to Tony and a much loved father in law to Sylvia.
Neil will be very sadly missed all his loving family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday 4th September at 9.40am at Accrington Crematorium.
